Residing in the forgotten heart of Oregon, Oregon City, Willamette Falls not only serves as one of the many magnificent wonders of Oregon, but an early gathering spot for Native American Tribes, a monumental piece of history that signified the end of the Oregon Trail and beginning of the first incorporated city on the West Coast.

Right behind Niagara Falls, Willamette Falls is the second largest waterfall in the country and largest waterfall in the Pacific Northwest, and is a hot destination spot for both locals and tourists.

THE WILLAMETTE FALLS LEGACY PROJECT COMMITTEE

Currently, the Committee is working on renovating the 23-acre industrial site, including the Falls, waterfront, old paper mill, and habitat that makes up the site. This project will soon allow public access to the Falls for the first time in 150 years, as well as spark the beginning of an economic engine for Oregon City as well as Oregon. The renovation will create more jobs and revenue both during and after the project is complete.

The DOCA has been working with the businesses within Oregon City to revitalize the Main Street.

In 2009, a group of people came together creating the Downtown Oregon City Association (DOCA). The DOCA works diligently to “generate a positive downtown image, preserve historic and cultural landmarks, and stimulate economic vitality” (“About”) in Oregon City.
